Being Active while Taking Care of the Environment

Exercising during quarantine may seem like an annoying task, but it is very crucial. Most people, especially students, sit for the whole day and only get up once or twice to drink water or go to the bathroom. This can lead to weaker joints and bones, weight gain, poor circulatory system, as well as depression. In most cases, living a convenient lifestyle can contribute to a more polluted society. Many people choose to live by doing day-to-day chores in a less time- consuming way, which can result in more trash. Every year, the U.S. produces more than 250 million tons of waste, so taking small actions to improve the situation will be a thumbs up. Therefore, if you take a path by staying active while helping out the environment, it will be a win-win situation.

A simple way you can do this is by taking a walk while picking up the garbage you come across. Being mindful when making purchases will also be beneficial to the earth. You can also ride a bike or walk to get to your destination rather than using a car. This might be an unnoticeable action when you do it alone, but if others also choose to follow, it’s certain that there will be a change.

Continuing to be Kind to the People Around You

Your mood is also a factor to living a long and happy life, not only eating well and exercising. As one’s current emotion can impact on how one views the rest of the day, you may want to try to help others stay positive, especially during a chaotic time like now. A lot of people are having a hard time due to job losses and self-quarantine; this could make them more sensitive and impatient than before. There can be a lot of unseen frustration piled up inside your family members and the people around you. It can be easy to make them feel better with some motivating words and by showing them a kind and sincere heart. Mentioned below are some easy, but effective actions you can try. Helping someone clean their room or doing their dishes are some of many ways to express your affections. It might seem like a trivial thing everyone can do, but it can also affect greatly. No matter what, you should never perform activities against other humans that could harm them physically or mentally.

Most adults learned at a young age to not judge a person based on the color of their skin, but many individuals will still discriminate. Preserving your Mental Health and Staying Positive

Being aware of your own mental health is something you should remember while staying aware of the recent news. Taking care of your emotional well being can be even more important than your physical fitness. However, being inactive can also be a factor of poor mental health. Loneliness, stress from work, money are other causes of being mentally unhealthy. Symptoms of mental health disorders can include physical issues, such as back pain, stomach pain, and headaches. Especially during this time, when a lot of people are having unemployment problems, and when students are having a hard time from school, it can cause a huge damage on people’s mental health. Asking people around you or counselors for help is a good idea but first, you have to know your mental state so they would be able to help . Having conversations with people around you, staying active and positive are some ways you can have a joyful day.

Moreover, this could be a great opportunity to have time for yourself, to do all the things you haven’t had time to experience, to acquire and polish skills, and to enjoy every second of your life.

Learning Something New and Getting Ready for the Coming School Year

It is essential to take care of your physical and mental health, as mentioned above, however, you can increase your happiness if you know the fact that you are also being productive each and every day. If you don’t know what you can do to be productive, try to find fun hobbies and new interests online. You can try to learn a new skill or just have fun for the time being. If you already have an activity you like spending time on, whether it's a sport, instrument, or study, use this chance to improve yourself. Hopefully, you will be able to enjoy doing something effective during your days in quarantine.

As the next school year rolls around, you will have to get into the habit of studying and preparing for tests. Try going over past materials and refresh your brain to get ready. You don’t necessarily have to begin cramming every single piece of information, but having a guideline of knowledge may help you in a few months. Taking the time to review last year’s work will surely pay off when you are back in school.
